Intercessions 5-5-13

Father,  we ask with shameless audacity for the Holy Spirit to be amongst us, as we come before you to give you praise and request your blessings upon us, so our faces will shine with your love.
Father, provide us with the guidance we need to be faithful disciples of the Lord. Help us understand the purpose you have for each one of us.
Father, let us not be afraid of the silence, allow us to hear your voice, so we can listen to the word of truth.
Let us pause
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer
Father, we humbly seek your love as you seek ours in the most important relationship we will ever have.
We know we need to give our time to you and to others, as we try to obey your command to love each other as Jesus loved us, but sometimes this can be very hard.
We wish to show our commitment to you by helping others like those people who actively work within the 3 charities which this church supports: Samaritan's Purse, Street Pastors and International Justice Mission; but we find it difficult not to be selfish with our time.
We want to offer you time to worship by ourselves, in small groups or as a corporate body in our churches here in Willingham, but we find time just slips through our fingers.
Father,  help us to publicly show our faith with open hearts, as Lydia did when she received word from Paul.
Let us pause
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer
Father, we ask with shameless audacity for your help in building the fellowship of St Mary & All Saints as we review the Mission Action Plan again, so we can support each other and accept people for who they are, not for what we would like them to be.
'Grant us the ability to recognise in other men, Lord God, the radiance of your own face'. (Pierre Teilhard de Chardin).
Father, help us not be to judgemental and self-righteous and guide us to the goodness which we all have hidden in our hearts.
Let us pause
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer
Lord, we have asked for help for ourselves so your grace will be poured over us, but now we ask for the wider community.
Father, we ask for your love and blessings to be poured over the people & businesses of Willingham.
May all those who are suffering with loss, especially the family and friends of those members serving in the Armed Forces who have been killed or seriously maimed, find you and know your healing hand.
Father, we ask with shameless audacity for world leaders and those in a position of influence to be given the wisdom required to 'defend the weak and the fatherless; to uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. To rescue the weak and the needy; and to deliver them from the hand of the wicked' Psalm 82:3-4
Let us pause for a moment whilst we imagine what it will be like when  the Kingdom has been restored as; 'there will be no more night...,for the Lord God will give us light.' Revelation 22:5
Let us pause for a moment whilst we imagine what it will be like when 'there will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things will have passed away' Revelation 21:4.
Merciful Father
Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ - Amen
