Intercessions 30-12-12

Heavenly Father, help us to follow in Jesus’ footsteps as we find our way along our journey.

Mary & Joseph were afraid when they thought they had lost Jesus in Jerusalem. Help us not to be afraid when we cannot find you Lord, give us confidence to know you are there, so we can be clothed in love, compassion, humility, kindness, meekness and patience, even as things go wrong.

Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

We pray for all those who have been affected by the winter sickness bug, including Linda who cannot be with us today. We ask that Linda and others like her will know of your love.
We pray for the families of those who died & were badly hurt in the Russian plane crash and families who have lost loved ones over this Christmas period from car accidents.

Heavenly Father you have given us the gift of technology to help us in our everyday lives; we must never take these gifts for granted, but use them wisely.

Let us pray silently for people who have lost loved ones or for those who are ill.

Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

We pray for the family of church organist Alan Greaves who died after being attacked on his way to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.
We pray for those who are now demonstrating in Delhi in the aftermath of the brutal murder of a 23 year old medical student as Indian faces an outpouring of rage for this young woman’s untimely death.

Heavenly Father guide all leaders & politicians with compassion as solutions are sought for the injustices of violence, so other families do not lose another child in similar circumstances.

Let us pray silently for the wisdom of kindness & how it helps others.

Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

We pray for those who have been acknowledged in the New Years Honours list and let them know humility in acceptance.

Heavenly Father we thank you for your gifts which enable us to build our relationship with you; our ability to worship, to pray and to listen to your word.
Let us pray in silence for those people who have not been so fortunate to find you Lord Jesus Christ.

Merciful Father
Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ Amen
