Old Photos

Here are a few old photos of the church. The first three are taken around 1894 prior to and during the major restoration by John Watkins. Note the extent to which the East window and the porch had deteriorated. Fortunately John Watkins was able to repair the damage and did so after painstaking research into the history of the church. The East window was reconstructed in its original form using, where possible, old stones - some of which were dug up in the churchyard!

The more recent photo shows the interior of the church in the 1960's This was a picture postcard at the time. Note the rows of chairs that have now been replaced with pews.
